VoiceThread can be used to support literacy learning where students create texts. Students can use Voicethread to create short texts to explore, record, report ideas and events using familiar words and even begin writing knowledge (Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority, 2012). Students can upload a picture of their favourite character from a familiar story and retell the story in their own words. However, teachers will need to guide students in the process in order for the tool to be used effectively. This web tool engages learning, promotes creativity, language communication and appeals to visual and auditory learners. VoiceThread is a great resource tool that can be used to teach, learn, train, and collaborate (VoiceTread, 2012).
